Summer Tour in China for 2 including Lhasa and the Yangtze River Cruise
| Day 1 | Depart London Heathrow, on flight overnight. |
| Day 2 | Arrive Beijing in the morning, meeting and transfer to Prime Hotel for 3 nights. Central location close to Wang Fu Jing & Tiananmen Square. Rest of day free. |
| Day 3 | Full day excursion to Great Wall & Ming Tombs with local guide. |
| Day 4 | In Beijing visit Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, Lama Temple. (with local guide), lunch included |
| Day 5 | Suggest own visit to Forbidden City where there are good audio guides in English and you can take your time. After lunch Accompanied transfer to airport for afternoon flight to Xian. Stay at Sheraton or similar. Obtain Tibet permit in Xian. |
| Day 6 | Depart after breakfast on full day tour to Terracotta Army, Provincial Museum & Great Wild Goose Pagoda (with local guide) B, L |
| Day 7 | Morning free in Xian, late morning departure from hotel. Depart on flight to Lhasa, flight time two and a half hours. On arrival meeting and transfer to Lhasa Hotel for 3 night stay. Acclimatize to altitude. |
| Day 8 | Sightseeing and visits in and around Lhasa with local guide: Potala , Barkhor Square and the bazaar, Johkang Temple, Norbulingka Summer Palace (B,L) |
| Day 9 | Day trip outside Lhasa to Ganden and Sera Monasteries B,L |
| Day 10 | After breakfast depart for airport, fly to Chengdu 1hr 40 minutes, connect with flight to Guilin 1hr 15minutes. Meeting and Transfer to Royal Garden Hotel. Remainder of day free. |
| Day 11 | Full day accompanied tour on the Li Jiang river to the village of Yangshuo. B,L |
| Day 12 | Morning free in Guilin. Afternoon tour to Fubo Hill and Reed Flute Cave. Late transfer to airport for flight to Chongqing 1hr 10minutes Arrive Chongqing transfer to Marriott Hotel. |
| Day 13 | Day trip to Buddhist grottos at Dazu – with local guide, return in late afternoon and early evening embarkation on the 5 Star MV East King for 3 nights. B, L, |
| Day 14 | On Yangtze River – shore excursion to Shibaozhai and pass through the Qutang gorge and Wuxia Gorge. All meals on board. |
| Day 15 | On Yangtze River – shore excursions – travel by dinghy along the Shennong Stream – this is a small tributary of the Yangtze, usually the water is very clear and the scenery dramatic. Return to MV King for lunch. In the afternoon sail through the Xiling Gorge, followed by the 5 level locks and dock at Yangjiawan after midnight. All meals on board |
| Day 16 | Morning visit to Three Gorges Dam Project, shortly before midday arrive Yichang. Disembark and transfer to airport for flight to Shanghai (one and a half hours) Arrive Shanghai airport, transfer to Salvo Hotel within walking distance of Bund, Nanjing Road and People’s Square for the Museum. |
| Day 17 | Full day guided tour in Shanghai to visit Old City & Yuyuan Garden, Pudong, Temple of Jade Buddha, museum . Lunch included. |
| Day 18 | Early breakfast and ransfer to station for 40 minute train journey to Suzhou. On arrival you will be met by a local guide - sail on Grand Canal, visit to Garden of the Master of the Nets, Lingering Garden and silk reeling demonstration or embroidery institute. Lunch in Suzhou. Evening return to Shanghai and transfer back to your hotel. |
| Day 19 | After an early breakfast transfer to Pudong airport, Depart on flight to UK, arriving the same day. |
